- Michigan State University - Lansing, Michigan - This is
the original version of this quintessential boot camp for
science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. Originally started
at Clarion State College in Pennsylvania it is now located
in Michigan and has spawned a western version noted below.
Approximately a third of those who have attended have gone
on to publish, including such greats as Octavia Butler and
Ed Bryant.

Odyssey Summer Fantasy Writing Workshop - Manchester,
New Hampshire - Early admission starts January 31. This is
an intensive experience of six weeks of fantasy, science fiction
and horror writing workshop run by World Fantasy Award winning
editor Jeanne Cavelos. This year's guests include Terry Bisson,

- This is the western version of this quintessential book
camp for the aspiring science fiction, fantasy or horror writer.
In addition to the workshop, it is the source for an exemplary
reading series that takes place at the same time as the workshop

of workshops, many already past or some coming up specifically
